Indonesian Islam consists of various groups and organizations, including Traditional or a group that combines Islamic teachings with local customs throughout the world. This study aims to identify interpretation traditional ideology from relevant references. It used qualitative method, collected primary secondary data literature study, explained them through descriptive analysis method. The results showed some Groups are members Nahdlatul Ulama organization others. They have unique characteristics, exclusive not accept others’ opinions outside group. has powerful network spreads remote areas Pondok pesantren. spread began entry Indonesia in Sumatra, especially Aceh, Java Wali Songo. Then, it produced great ulama who area founded pesantren boarding schools. oral written published many works religious field covering fiqh, Sufism, tasawuf, tafsir. had two learning methods, namely sorogan bandungan. At first, tafsir, they only because as teachers very simple pass on. thought appreciating classic is an appreciation tradition. But after getting lot criticism reformists (modernists), expand tafsir wrote more about it. In writing often involve traditionalist based on Aswaja (Ahlu Sunnah Waljamaah).
